BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS!!! (Shipping update)

BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS!!! (Shipping update)

Hey Everyone,

Ray here. I'm sure you're eagerly awaiting your Wildsea, so here's a general status update on fulfillment!

Customer Support

First, a reminder that if you have any issues, please let us know by emailing: support@myth.works. You can also message us on Kickstarter. We're monitoring all channels and currently have part time Mythopoeians on Tuesdays and Thursdays helping us out.

Please bear with us as we simultaneously fulfill three Kickstarters and about 1,000 additional preorders from our webstore from the last three months.

Let Us Know

Please do let us know as soon as you have your packages on this page as well as the Discord! Since we are using various warehouses, that information helps let us know where we're at with the fulfillment process.

Overall Progress

Here's what our BackerKit dash looks like:

Individual breakdowns of region below.

Australia / New Zealand

The fine folks at Indie RPG Bookshelf have completed sending out all packages to Australia and New Zealand, and some Australian backers have reported receiving their copies! For the first time maybe ever in a crowdfunding project, Oceania finishes first! The proximity of the continent to Asia probably has a lot to do with it, as do our excellent partners at Storybrewers / Indie Bookshelf.

If your Australian friends are looking for any of our fine games, please tell them to head over to the Indie RPG Bookshelf in the near future! They got you covered.

USA

Overall, we're around 60% of the way through USA fulfillment, and by fulfillment, I mean packages dispatched.

The progress report from our topsheet to our warehouse.

The green check marks on the lefthand column are orders from groups that have been sent out. The first few package groups, EOS-605800, EOS-605802, etc. represent the most common like-packages. All in all, the sheets listed above cover some ~1300/1672 USA orders, with about 1000 of them having already gone out.

A few notes about the USA orders...

  • We're using ground shipping so it may take another couple of days before we hear reports of people having their books in hand, something we're eagerly awaiting as well! So please let us know if you have gotten your stuff.
  • We're not just using the warehouse to fulfill these orders. The warehouse is handling front to back with batch orders, and we've started shipping the more unique orders back to front.
  • If you've ever run a crowdfunding campaign before, you know that ~60-70% of the labor involves the last ~30% of packages. It's quick to send things out when they all have the same items, much more labor intensive when the orders become more individualized.

A word about USA Orders and Dice

We're sending out DICE in separate packages. This was a difficult decision we had to make late in the USA fulfillment game... basically the packaging we already purchased would not play nicely with big orders including tiny dice. So, we made the tough decision to send those items out separately in poly bags.

Doing so is going to cost us around $3-4k extra, but we figured this was better with the risk of damage exponentially increasing if tiny dice boxes were included. ColomPac Mailers are super well engineered cardboard, but designed in a way where maximum contact surface area with product = maximum protection.

Alas, this was not something we discovered until a few weeks ago, prepping for fulfillment. The joys of learning as you go. Anyway, if you are receiving dice and would like to throw us a few bones for the extra packaging, I've included a QR code below. Doing so is not necessary to receiving your rewards. Figured we'd be transparent about where we are, including our logistical missteps

$4.50 per dice package via USPS, if you are feeling kindly :D

Each individual dice package will cost around $4.5 to ship via USPS. We're bearing the cost, but if you are receiving dice and would like to help us offset the costs, well, thank you.

Dice and the Rest of the World...

Other regions will have/had all products including dice shipped into one package. The advantages of lagging behind in ocean freight is that when it comes to planning, we can pivot a little bit. Speaking of the rest of the world...

Canada

We are waiting with baited breath for our shipment of Slugblaster / Wildsea Cthonic Dice to hit our warehouses. It's at port in Long Beach, just waiting to get unloaded...

Thoughts and prayers for this container to be unloaded ASAP.

Once it does so, we have a pallet pre-loaded with the rest of the goods to send to Canada / Composed Dreams. We'll grab the cartons we need from Slugblaster and the Wildsea Cthonic Dice and it'll be on it's merry way to Edmonton. My best approximate from here on out is shipping beginning in ~3-4 weeks.

Europe / UK / ROW

All three remaining regions have reported that the first boats from Tiger Printing with the majority of Wildsea goods have made landfall! Bezos (UK) reports that they will have ingested goods by this Friday.

The second boat, with Slugblaster and Cthonic Dice, is scheduled for the following:

Ignore the last HK-UK one, those are some extra goods from previous campaigns we shipped out.
Ignore the last HK-UK one, those are some extra goods from previous campaigns we shipped out.

So, August 02 or thereabouts for all of the goods to hit Europe, and July 26th or thereabouts for the UK. The silver lining here is that once we have all the goods, our partners in the regions are very fast and we'll have learned from our XP in the USA, meaning that these orders should all be processed very quickly within a week once everything is in their system.

Behold! Boxes!

Sorry, UK/Europe/ROW gang. We wish we could snap our thumbs and have all the goods arrive at all the places (your home) simultaneously. But, alas. We're working as fast as we can though to get these orders out.

Okay, that was the shipping update! Now for some more fun stuff.

Wild Words SRD

It's finally here! Behold ...

The Wild Words SRD v1.0! Take a look, and let us know what you think! You'll notice there's a separate license for fan content - By Firefly's Light.

The plan is (at some point after Gencon) to upload some templates so you can create your own Wildsea fan material. We thought we would have it up by this update and wanted to start a game jam with those templates, but a lot has been going on and, well, at least we have the SRD and the By Firefly's Light License!

If you see any errors or have feedback on the SRD, the best place to put them is on the Wildsea Discord under #srd-feedback.

Happy hacking, designers!

BE/HOLD - Whispers & Wildsongs

Behold! Music from BE/HOLD! The composer for My First Dungeon's run of The Wildsea, BE/HOLD, has released the full album used in the season! Check it out here.

It's some incredible work and one that I'll be sure to add to my Wildsea soundtracks in the future.

Starscape

Golden Lasso Games just launched Starscape, a sci-fi tabletop roleplaying game where you are part of a starship crew journeying through space, bonding through adversity, and becoming a found-family. Kimi is a dear friend and wonderful designer. Her previous game, Decuma, is my go-to for introducing people to roleplaying. If you haven't already, please give it a look and see if it's your cup of tea!

Now, over to Felix...

FELIX HERE!

Hello people! It's been a long road from inception to books-in-hand, but we're finally crossing that threshold. Although on reflection, a considerably shorter road than it was for the original core book campaign, so I guess we're getting better at this whole 'book' thing as time goes on. The lack of a global pandemic does help in that regard too, admittedly!

I'm going to keep my bit of the update short and sweet for this one, as that's a lot of logistical news above me to take in. So while Ray does 'what's happening right now', I'm going to do 'what's happening in the near future'!

I've been working on three main things for the last few months (technically four, but the fourth one is a secret to everybody). These are...

+ Tigers on the Wire, a standalone Wildsea adventure in the vein of Red Right Hand and One-Armed Scissor...

+ PICO, a game of tiny bugs solving tiny problems (potentially from the backs of cats), my wildsea palate-cleanser...

+ And Tooth & Nail, the next (last?) big Wildsea Expansion, focusing on mounts, settlements, and supporting longer campaign-based play (yes, I understand that this demonstrates I don't really get the concept of a palate-cleanser).

Rather than write out even more words for you to read, let me say my goodbye, and wish you all a happy book-receiving-time, with a barrage of pictures instead...

Until next time, people - Felix, out!

Work in progress on the Festivado, one of the new posts for Tooth & Nail. If you're a discord frequenter you might have seen this one already - work in progress season is upon us once again!
The Queen of Claws, from Tigers on the Wire, art by the constantly productive and worryingly-good-at-his-job Omercan :)
I've shared a bit of PICO art before here, though I tend to keep it to patreon since it's not big and official yet, but this is possibly my favourite piece yet. PICO is the work of me and a single artist, ZNKD, working in tandem to shape and create the mysteriocalypse. we'll be delving into it more once Tigers on the Wire is up and running, and after I've had a bit of playtest time - which I'll be talking about very soon too!
